Very Rev. Tait Schroeder, Vicar General, publishes the decree uniting the parishes of St. Patrick in Benton, St. Rose of Lima in Cuba City, Holy Ghost in Dickeyville, St. Francis de Sales in Hazel Green, Immaculate Conception in Kieler, St. Mary in Platteville, and St. Joseph in Sinsinawa to become St. Dominic Parish, as issued by Most Rev. Donald Hying, Bishop of Madison, and announces the following clergy appointments, all effective Saturday, August 8, 2026, and announced the same day.

The Reverend Father Richard “Dick” John Leffler entered eternity on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the age of 74. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church (St. Pius of Pietrelcina Parish), 305 E. Walnut St., Dodgeville, on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation immediately prior beginning at 9:00 a.m.
