Mount Olivet Catholic CemeteryEstablished in the mid-1800s, Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery serves all Janesville Catholics. It has beautiful views located on the west side of the Rock River at 1827 North Washington Street. A small historic Romanesque Revival chapel is on the grounds, as well as the striking Pieta Columbarium, and the Chapel Mausoleum. Presently operated by the Diocese of Madison on behalf of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Parish, Mount Olivet offers more than 40 rolling acres with above-ground and in-ground options for full body burial and cremated remains. Mount Olivet also offers caskets, urns, and memorials, as well as natural burial options. The last part of Catholic funeral rites – the Committal – is held at the cemetery, which is a consecrated place, much like a church.
