Lay Them to Rest - November 2, 2025With the Lay Them to Rest program, the Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Madison invite you to lay the cremated remains of your loved one to rest on sacred ground with a solemn Catholic committal, free of charge. Perpetual record keeping is included, so that you and your family, even if they are unable to attend the committal, will always be able to visit your loved one.

Whether it’s a quiet moment, a striking monument, or the changing seasons, your photos can help tell the story of these holy places. Contest winners will be invited to a special dinner with Bishop Hying!

Mass & PrayerCatholic Cemeteries Week is a special time to pray for our beloved dead and reflect on the hope of eternal life. You’re invited to pray the special indulgence for a loved one, attend All Souls Day Mass at your parish (Sunday, November 2, 2025), and visit a cemetery in prayerful remembrance. Consider joining or organizing a walking Rosary in a cemetery – whether as a one-time event or ongoing tradition – to honor and pray for the souls of the faithful departed.
